Dan Reynolds

Dr. Reynolds builds on his experience as a high school English teacher to understand how to develop adolescent literacy through instructional design and responsive interactional scaffolding. He also works with practitioners in three Ohio districts and the ODE’s State Literacy team to translate adolescent literacy research to instructional practice. His research focuses on interactional scaffolding in discussion, culturally responsive texts, and text complexity. He has written articles for practitioners in Ohio Journal of English Language Arts, The Reading Teacher, and Voices from the Middle and for researchers, in Reading Research Quarterly, American Educational Research Journal, and Journal of Educational Psychology.
